Mock Interview Reflection

I am going to sit and reflect for a few minutes about my mock interview that I had on Monday. First of all, I was very excited about being able to have this experience, mainly because I might actually have an interview for this exact position in the coming weeks. Overall, I feel like the interview went very well. Angela presented me with some questions that were very difficult to answer. Some of these I had somewhat prepared for but others completely caught me off guard. I feel as if I handled the questions very well, and I answered them honestly. I did not feel like I had to dig for answers at any point. I have done a few interviews lately so I was confident coming into the interview and I think that it showed, but not too much. Again, I feel very proud of how my interview went, and I will go into any real interview in the future with a lot of confidence, knowing that I can handle any sorts of questions that they have for me.

Semester to Date

So right now, I am going to reflect on what we have accomplished this semester so far, and exactly what I feel that I have learned from those assignments. It would be hard to say that I did not learn from the easier assignments at all. I mean, while I first thought that the formatting quiz was more of a pain than it would help, I did end up learning a few things that in the long run will help me. As for some of the upcoming assignments, I am kinda freaking out a little bit as far as those go. My girlfriend decided to get me sick and so I missed class on Friday, which was apparently a big day, so I have absolutly no idea what is going on in regards to the presentation, interview and portfolio. So, we will see how things go this week, but I am sure that I will be able to pull everything off.

I do feel like my group is ready to get some work done on this project, and I am very excited about getting to work. My group really seems to get along and mesh well. So basically, this project is going to be fun work for me. I hope everyone else is doing well and I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

P.S. Angie, I know you are the only one that reads me blog probably, so I am not sure why I addressed everyone in that last line.

Presenation Topics

We are doing our first presentation coming up really soon so it is time to start thinking about topics to present to the class. We are supposed to pick a topic that we already know a lot about and we aren't supposed to have to do any research on our topic. Well there are not too many things that I actually know a whole lot about, so this shouldn't be too difficult. One thing I know quite a bit about is how to dress fratty but Fred did that last semester, so I will probably not do that. I still might do something along these lines but I am not exactly sure. The other thing that I know quite a bit about and that interests me a lot is Clemson Football. This is something that I am very passionate about and something that I have continued to learn about over the years. The only reason that I might not do this topic is because Clemson Football has kinda left a bad taste in my mouth lately. Even so, this is more than likely going to be the topic of choice and I hope everyone enjoys my presentation.

Client Concerns

I am really excited about the client project that we have for this class. I have done volunteer work in the past, but this is an opportunity that doesn't come around very often, and it gives us the chance to help in a unconventional way. I do have a few concerns though about the project. I think my main concern has to do with the amount of confidentiality that the clients want to have in regards to the project. While I sympathize and understand their reasons to a certain extent, I just want the web site to be the best it can be and help them achieve their goals and I am not exactly sure that with the restraints that we are given if that can happen. Basically, I just want the project to the be the best possible. That seems to be the main concern that I have.

Our group met today to work on the the web site and I am very pleased with the amount that we got accomplished. The home page to the site is mostly done, and everything looks like it is going to come together nicely in the end. Our group seems to work well together as well. We were very efficient and that is a pet peeve of mine when it comes to groups. It seems like most of the time with group work, it takes 2 hours to do what should only take 45 minutes, but I don't think that will be an issue with our group. I am very excited about the project and my group and cannot wait to see how things turn out.
